The classification of the elevators manufactures as per International standards and utilisation aims are as follows;
Class-1 Elevators:
Elevators that are design especially for carrying passengers.
Class-2 Elevators:
Basically designed to carry passengers, but may also use load.
Class-3 Elevators:
Basically designed to be used in health facilities.
Class-4 Elevators:
Elevators designed to carry loads accompanied by passengers.
Class-5 Elevators:
Elevators designed for lifting small loads with a cab unsuitable to carry passengers as per their dimensions and type.
Class-6 Elevators:
Elevators designed for tower buildings with heavy traffic, operating with a speed of 2.5 m\s or more.
